Remembering CNN Hero Shirley Raines and her tireless efforts to bring ‘Beauty 2 the Streetz’

With boundless compassion, 2021 CNN Hero of the Year Shirley Raines spent nearly a decade caring for thousands of people on LA’s Skid Row, providing food, clothing, and hair and makeup services through her nonprofit, Beauty 2 the Streetz. She passed away this week at the age of 58.
