Michaela Benthaus, a 33-year-old German aerospace and mechatronics engineer, made history as the first wheelchair user to travel past the Kármán Line, a common marker for outer space. Her voyage on a Blue Origin New Shepard capsule launched Saturday morning in West Texas.
