The suspects behind the Bondi Beach attack traveled to the Philippines last month, to a region long known as a hotbed for Islamic extremism and insurgency. Authorities are now investigating whether the trip was linked to the attack. CNN's Jessie Yeung reports.

<p>A police officer hailed as a hero for shooting dead one of the attackers responsible for the Bondi Beach massacre has been identified by Australian media as Detective Senior Constable Cesar Barraza. He is believed to have shot dead Sajid Akram, 50, according to the Sydney Morning Herald and CNN affiliates 9News and 7News.</p>
