Who is Zohran Mamdani?

Zohran Mamdani will be the next mayor of New York City. The Democratic socialist shocked the political establishment by beating former Governor Andrew Cuomo, first in the Democratic primary in June, and now after Cuomo ran as an Independent in the general election. At 34, Mamdani is the first Muslim and South Asian elected to the position and will become the youngest mayor in well over a hundred years to lead the biggest city in the US.
