Reporter asks Mamdani if he would have sought arrest of Hamas leaders

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was asked by a reporter whether he would have called for the arrest of Hamas leaders responsible for the October 7, 2023, attacks in Israel. The question comes as Mamdani has faced scrutiny over his campaign trail vow to execute the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he were to come to New York City. However, the mayor acknowledged this week that he does not have the legal authority to do so.
