Doctors say war in Gaza led to this child’s hair loss

<p>Doctors say eight-year-old Sama Tubail has lost nearly all of her hair due to the trauma she has endured since Israel’s military offensive in Gaza began in 2023. Now the war has been paused under a fragile ceasefire deal, the UN has said “a generation has been traumatized,” and that nearly all of Gaza’s 1.2 million children need psychological support. </p>

Doctors say eight-year-old Sama Tubail lost nearly all of her hair due to the trauma she has endured since Israel’s military offensive in Gaza began in 2023. The UN has said “a generation has been traumatized,” and that nearly all of Gaza’s 1.2 million children need psychological support. On Tuesday Israel launched a fresh barrage of attacks, shattering the ceasefire and killing hundreds of Palestinians, Gaza health officials said.
