'Soft' prosthetics could help solve a global healthcare problem

Fewer than 1 in 10 people who need prosthetics globally are estimated to receive them, and traditional prosthetics can be expensive, labor-intensive and uncomfortable. CNN meets London-based company Koalaa, which believes its '”soft” prosthetics are a solution.

STORMI GREENER ¥ sgreener@startribune.com Sheri Eke has a prosthetic leg that allows her to walk, run, bike, hike, moto-cross and just about anything athletically that she wishes. Sheri lost her right leg in a gun shooting accident 14 years ago. She has tried numerous legs and feet, works for Attobock Distribution Co., the same company that makes the prosthetics and continues to better the product by wearing them hard.
