PSG on course for treble of trophies... and we're not even halfway through 2026
Victory in tonight’s semifinal will keep PSG on course for a treble of trophies so far in 2026.
They’ve already lifted the French Super Cup this season and are on course to win yet another Ligue 1 title.
The Parisians currently sit six points ahead of nearest challengers Lens.
Add that to a possible shot at another Champions League title and it could be another year to remember for the PSG fanbase.
Bayern turns to teenage star for inspiration
Less than five minutes left and Bayern has thrown on Lennart Karl.
The 18-year-old is an insanely talented player; full of tricks, flicks and creativity. He’s suffered from injuries this season but now has a chance to make himself a hero.
His team needs him and he just had a chance to score, but his effort was blocked by a host of PSG defenders.
More stunted buildup play from Bayern Munich

It’s just not clicking for Bayern today and its fans seem to be losing faith.
It’s all just very slow and predictable, with PSG able to sit back and wait for its host to make a mistake.
Vincent Kompany throws on another striker in the form of Nicolas Jackson but it’s all looking a bit desperate.
Defensive grit and attacking flair on full show for PSG

We’ve spoken so much about PSG’s attacking flair but tonight they’ve shown another side to themselves with real defensive grit and nouse.
Led by their supremely experienced captain Marquinhos and the indomitable William Pacho, the centre-back duo have been so commanding at the back and barely given the Bayern attackers a sniff at goal.
PSG has managed this game superbly in the second half. They look so comfortable on the big stage and are now just looking to see this game out.
And they nearly do so as Kvaratskhelia fails to make proper contact with his shot in the penalty area.
That would have been game over.
Doué almost buries the tie

Desire Doué is inches away from sealing the tie for PSG.
The Frenchman links up with Kvaratskhelia on the edge of the box before drilling a low shot that goes into the side-netting.
You get the feeling that the second goal is not too far away now for the Parisians.
Bayern makes changes to breathe new life into tiring team
Vincent Kompany has turned to his bench and made two changes with Bayern still struggling in front of goal – Jonathan Tah and Josip Stanišić are replaced by Kim Min-jae and Alphonso Davies.
It seems to have worked, with Bayern taking two shots in as many minutes after the substitutions. Crucially, though, still no goals.
Goalscorer Dembélé's night is done

One shot. One goal. That is what you call efficiency.
Ousmane Dembélé’s may have been relatively quiet for PSG this evening but his goal early on could well be the one to send the Parisians into back-to-back Champions League finals.
The reigning Ballon d’Or winner’s night is done as he makes way for compatriot Bradley Barcola.
PSG has just over 20 minutes to see out this tie and punch their ticket to Budapest.
PSG looking to take the sting out of the game

Bayern are pushing for the equalizer, which is leaving space at the back – something PSG is looking to capitalize on.
The Parisians are happy to sit in, absorb pressure and then hit the Bavarians on the counterattack.
You get the feeling that PSG’s wingers – Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué – will always create chances.
And Doué has another effort on goal which Neuer has to tip round the post for a corner, which ultimately comes to nothing.
Michael Olise not shining as bright as usual

Bayern has been able to rely on Michael Olise to be the creative spark this season, but the winger is struggling to make an impact in this match.
He’s got himself in some good positions so far but the end product has been missing. Just then, he ghosted into some space just outside the box but couldn’t make up his mind and eventually lost the ball.
Bayern need him and Harry Kane to improve in this second half.
Doué, Kvaratskhelia test Neuer in quick succession

After being treated to so much thrilling, free-flowing football in this tie we can maybe forgive the players for a scrappy start to the second half.
But then suddenly out of nothing PSG forces Manuel Neuer into two back-to-back saves.
First, Désiré Doué tests the palms of the German keeper with a thunderous shot before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia follows up by drilling in a low shot that is stopped by Neuer’s feet.
Bayern will have one eye on the clock already
It’s only been around 10 minutes since the restart but Bayern will be very conscious of every second that ticks by.
PSG seems to be sitting in at the start of the second half, looking to stifle any space that could allow Bayern back into this.
You feel if Bayern get one back, the whole stadium will erupt and the second might follow.
Head injury for PSG defender Pacho
An early moment of concern at that start of this second half for PSG centre-back William Pacho who goes down following a head injury.
The defender stooped to head the ball when Harry Kane was kicking it up high and the Bayern striker’s studs caught the top of his head.
Pacho has been attended to and is now back on the pitch.
And no sooner does he come back on the pitch, the Ecuador international is on the receiving end of an elbow in the face from Konrad Laimer.
Fortunately the defender is back up on his feet and the game resumes.
PSG loves a halftime lead

If you’re a PSG supporter, you’re going to love this stat!
The Parisians haven’t lost a game they held a half-time lead in since April 2025 against Aston Villa in the Champions League (2-1 HT, 2-3 FT), going unbeaten in 37 games since.
That puts into perspective that uphill task that awaits Vincent Kompany’s team in this second half.
This game, though, is far from done and as the cliche goes, the next goal in this tie will be crucial.
Back underway in Munich with Bayern searching for two goals
Here we go.
You’d prefer to be a PSG fan right now but it’s not all over for Bayern.
The hosts need at least two goals to force extra time and keep their Champions League dreams alive. PSG just needs to hold on and maybe catch Bayern on the counterattack.
You’d be a brave person to bet against seeing more goals in the next 45 minutes.
Bayern is yet to get on the scoresheet, but signs are promising

Only one goal but plenty to talk about after that first 45 minutes.
Luis Díaz and Michael Olise have been an absolute nightmare for PSG fullbacks Warren Zaïre-Emery and Nuno Mendes but haven’t been able to find the goal yet.
Bayern manager Vincent Kompany will also still be seething that his side was not given a penalty after the ball appeared to clearly strike João Neves’ arm just 10 minutes before the break.
The Bavarians need two goals in the next 45 minutes to force extra time, or potentially penalties.
According to Opta, Bayern’s matches have produced the most goals this season among clubs in the five major leagues: 234 in 51 matches (174 scored, 60 conceded). That’s an average of 4.6 goals per match.
If ever Kompany’s side needed to flex its firepower it’s now.
Halftime: PSG stay ahead at the break
That early goal has been as good as it’s got for PSG. Bayern really should be level but just haven’t found the back of the net.
Time for a rest.
Script so far going according to plan for PSG
It’s by no means been a vintage performance by PSG but in a tie of fine margins they’ve taken their chance when it matters the most.
Ousmane Dembélé has been relatively quiet since opening the scoring, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has shown moments of brilliance down the wing and Désiré Doué has barely touched the ball.
But unlike last week, PSG’s defense has held firm and so far shows little signs of conceding this evening.
Luis Enrique will no doubt use his halftime team talk to press upon his side the need for more possession of the ball and take their opportunities when they come to kill of the Bayern threat and put this tie to bed.
Bayern's Jamal Musiala goes close twice in quick succession
Bayern is getting closer…
This time attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala has two shots in under a minute.
He probably should have scored the first one, with Harry Kane making a brilliant run to drag the defenders away from Musiala who could only fire his shot straight at the goalkeeper.
Moments later the German finds himself in the box and creates a little space before shooting just wide.
Bayern still struggling to find cutting edge
The game is drifting towards halftime and Bayern Munich still need to find two goals from somewhere.
The hosts are huffing and puffing but have failed to be as clinical as they were in the first leg.
Harry Kane has been smothered so far, with the England international still waiting for his first big chance. Bayern need to get him within sight of the goal.
PSG soaking up Bayern pressure

Since the early goal, PSG has been soaking up intense Bayern pressure as the hosts seek a way back into this tie.
Full-backs Warren Zaïre-Emery and Nuno Mendes are being pinned back by Bayern’s winger Luis Diaz and Michael Olise.
Despite Bayern’s press, they’re yet to really test PSG’s goalkeeper Matvéi Safónov which will be of concern to Vincent Kompany.
