Super Tuesday lifted presidential candidate Joe Biden to the front of the Democratic field last week.
On Super Tuesday II, he expanded his lead.
The former vice president is projected to win the primaries in Idaho, Michigan, Mississippi and Missouri, four of the six states that voted on Super Tuesday II. The races in North Dakota and Washington were still up in the air as Wednesday morning approached.
Delegate-rich Michigan was the night's biggest prize. US Sen. Bernie Sanders won in Michigan four years ago and was looking for another win to regain some momentum in the race.
Sanders was leading in delegates going into Super Tuesday, and then Biden won 10 of the 14 states that day.
It's effectively a two-man contest now. US Sen. Elizabeth Warren and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg dropped out after lackluster showings on Super Tuesday.
