STARLUX Airlines: STARLUX Airlines, due to launch in early 2020, will be the first new airline in three decades to enter Taiwan's duopoly aviation market.

A boutique airline: STARLUX positions itself as a boutique airline, tapping into the higher-end aviation market.

Luxury airline: Promising to provide top-notch service, representatives of STARLUX Airlines say the company won't start a fare war. Instead, ticket prices will likely be higher than those of its competitors.

Sleek interior: The interior of the airline's narrow body-cabin, designed by BMW's Designworks studio, is fitted with sleek seats, leather headrests and inflight entertainment systems across all classes. Its business class seats will recline into an 82-inch flat bed.

Inflight entertainment for everyone: Economy class seats will feature a 10.1-inch 720p screen while business class seats will be provided with 15.6-inch 1080p inflight entertainment systems.

STARLUX uniforms: Its crew uniform was designed by local designer Sean Yin. The uniform features a mixture of materials to increase functionality.

JX Style: Dubbed JX Style, STARLUX's uniforms were inspired by futuristic styles of the 1940s and 50s. The airline's maintenance technician jackets, for example, pay tribute to the jet fighter pilots of the 1940s.

A fleet of 50 pllanes by 2030: STARLUX Airlines has so far purchased 10 A321neos and 17 A350 XWBs. It aims to grow its fleet to 50 aircraft by the end of 2030. The first A321neo was delivered last month.

Aviation's Hamlet: STARLUX founder Chang Kuo-wei is the youngest son and the only child of EVA Airways' late founder Chang Yung-fa's second wife. He was the chairman of EVA before he was ousted from the company after a succession feud.
