Space hotel designs: Orbital Assembly Corporation is planning to build Voyager Station and Pioneer Station, two space hubs in the sky. Click through the gallery to see Oribital Assembly's renderings depicting what what life among the stars might look like.

Near future: Orbital Assembly says that Voyager Station could accommodate 400 people and open in 2027, while Pioneer Station, housing 28 people, could be operational by 2025.

Earth meets space: Orbital Assembly's interiors envisage hotel rooms not unlike what you might see on Earth, but with incredible space views.

Sci-fi dream: "It's not going to be like going to a factory or going to a research facility," Tim Alatorre, Orbital Assembly's chief operating officer, told CNN Travel. Instead, Alatorre said the space stations should feel like a "sci-fi dream."

Space basketball: Orbital Assembly envisages some artificial gravity in the station, but some spaces where there would be no artificial gravity, which it says could potentially be used for fun games like basketball with a space twist.

Expensive industry: Space tourism has become a hot topic in recent years and currently comes with a big price tag. Orbital Assembly thinks this could change with time. "We're doing everything we can to make space accessible to everyone, not just the wealthy," said Alatorre.

Futuristic vision: The launch dates of 2025 and 2027 are funding dependent, but Alatorre and team are confident in their futuristic vision.

Time will tell: "For people who are naysayers or doubters, what I've always said is 'Give us time. It's going to happen. It doesn't happen overnight," said Alatorre. "And just wait us out, prove us out. And we'll show you what we're doing as we go along and then you can make your judgment."
