SeaWorld Orlando's "Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin" exhibit opened to the public on Friday. The new attraction involves a ride, plus 30-degree temperatures and nearly 250 penguins.

The trackless adventure ride winds up among a colony of Adelie, gentoo, king and rockhopper penguins in a 30-degree habitat.

The new attraction will provide a bracing cool down to summer visitors.

The ride that precedes meeting with live penguins involves simulator cars that allow guests to choose wild or mild exploration for thrills tailored to the riders.

Penguins dive about 450 times a day to find their food in the wild. SeaWorld Orlando penguins will collectively eat 300 to 400 pounds of fish each day and find about 20,000 lbs. of fresh snow in their habitat daily.
