Opposites attract: Divemaster Sarah Richard always imagined she'd marry a fellow scuba diver -- or at least someone with a similarly nomadic lifestyle. But a chance encounter led her to a passionate asparagus farmer from southwestern England who would later become her husband.

Diving in Mexico: Founder of Girls that Scuba, Richard traveled non-stop to host dive trips and events before the pandemic. During a trip home to England she met her now husband, Joel Gostling, on the last train of the night out of London Bridge station.

Long-distance love: The pair began dating and Richard continued to travel for work. When she'd return from her trips, Gostling would meet her at the airport, each time holding up a different sign for her.

Surprise proposal: On December 15, 2019, exactly one year after they met on the train, Gostling orchestrated a surprise proposal at the station where they first met.

Jordan: After they got engaged, Richard continued to travel while Gostling focused on his farm. In early 2020, she turned her ambitions to Jordan, where she hoped to establish a Middle East arm of Girls that Scuba.

Pandemic pains: Gostling, pictured here in his restaurant Soulshine, moved to Jordan with Richard and planned to work remotely, returning to England during harvest season. They were there just four days before the country went into lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Travel resumes: While Richard's nomadic life came to an abrupt stop due to the pandemic, she found places to dive along the coast of England and continued to build her online community.

Two weddings: The couple, seen here in Gostling's asparagus field, hosted a small outdoor ceremony for 12 people and then a larger celebration in September 2021. Richard has since picked up right where she left off. So far this year, she has hosted two Girls that Scuba trips -- the first in the Galapagos, followed by another in the Red Sea.
