Nomad Barber —
Miguel Gutierrez, also known as the Nomad Barber, traveled to more than 20 countries and offered haircuts in some of the most scenic locations.

12-month journey —
Gutierrez embarked on his 12-month tour around the world in 2013, giving haircuts along the way.

Kurdistan: Most unusual haircut place —
The Nomad Barber describes Kurdistan in northern Iraq as his most unusual stop. "We were like 20 minutes from the Iran border and to get there, you have to go through 12 checkpoints."

India: Best barber culture —
For Gutierrez, India has the best barber culture. "Indian men are quite vain so they like to go to the barber shop a lot. A lot of them don't shave at home, they just go to the shop because it's really cheap."

Varanasi, India —
Gutierrez offered a haircut in Varanasi, known as the spiritual capital of India, afloat on the sacred Ganges River.

Dubai —
Indians may visit the barber more often but Gutierrez says men in Dubai are the best groomed males among the places he visited.

Best-groomed men —
He thinks the men in Dubai care more about personal grooming because it pays to look good for career purposes in Dubai.

Hong Kong —
In addition to visiting a high-end grooming store and a traditional Chinese salon in Hong Kong, Gutierrez also cut hair on a rooftop in the city.

Travel series —
The traveling barber documented the differences in barbershop culture in places such as Singapore, Nepal, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and Dubai. His travels were shared on Youtube.

Different but same same —
What struck Gutierrez the most however, was the similarities between barbers wherever he went.

Best head massage? —
Gutierrez (in the stool this time) received one of the best head massages he can recall in Pokhara, Nepal.

Gutierrez's barber shops —
Gutierrez has temporarily packed away his suitcase. He now has a barbershop in London's Shoreditch and one in Berlin. But he plans to go on more hairy adventures in the near future.
