Bourdain walks with Bell in Nairobi's Kibera slums in February 2018 during the filming of "Parts Unknown" Season 12.

Though he has some personal roots in the country, Kamau's first trip to Kenya -- to the continent of Africa, in fact -- was with Tony.

Roasted goat is one of the dishes that Tony and Kamau enjoyed while spending time with the II Ingwesi community in Kenya.

Of the experience filming with Tony, Kamau says "Kenya felt like a beginning," though with Tony's passing, he had to accept it as the end, an ending he says, "I was lucky to have."

In the Kenya episode, Tony and Kamau spoke with a number of individuals to try and learn where Kenya stands today as a cultural, economic and political force.

Kamau Bell says that although he isn't Kenyan, his name is. For years, Kenyans have told him to visit the country.

Bourdain and Bell visit the Kibera slums of Nairobi during filming.

Kamau and Tony check out Toi Market, where many people in Nairobi shop for jeans, jackets, T-shirts and more.

Tony and Kamau enjoy beers at a local restaurant. Kamau says that the two spent a lot of off-screen time together while on location too.
