Bond museum: James Bond movies are known for their incredible locations. Now a new museum is opening in the Austrian alps celebrating 007.

Alpine setting: Located on Gaislachkogl mountain in Sölden, the museum, called 007 Elements, neighbors the ice Q restaurant featured in "Spectre."

Incredible location: "It's actually built inside the permafrost of the mountain," creative director of the museum Neal Callow tells CNN Travel.

Bond expert: Callow worked as the art director on the past four Bond films: "Casino Royale," "Quantum of Solace," "Skyfall" and "Spectre."

Frosty moment: The Alpine setting was chosen for 2015's "Spectre" was the "perfect environment for the character of Dr Madeleine Swann," says Callow.

Collaborative effort: Called 007 Elements, it's a collaboration between Callow and Optimist Inc. head of design Tino Schaedler and his team.

Villain's lair: The museum has a modern, dramatic aesthetic. "We wanted it to feel like somewhere that you might see James Bond operate," says Callow.

Iconic look: The inventive design also channels iconic James Bond Production Designer Sir Ken Adam and the early Bond movies.

Grand designs: The architect, Johann Obermoser -- who also worked on the ice Q restaurant -- was the brainchild behind the design.

Unusual construction: "It's made up of nine independent floating cubes that form together to build this one whole installation," says Callow.

Modern magic: As well as harking back to vintage Bond moments, the museum also channels Bond's high tech reputation.

Pioneering: "Bond as a brand, I guess, or as a franchise, has always been famous for being right on the cutting edge of technology," says Callow.

Unconventional museum: The museum describes itself as a cinematic experience, rather than a traditional museum.

Multi-sensory: "We wanted it to be much more something that you feel in a multi-sensory and emotive way," says Callow.

Striking spaces: There are dramatic chambers and soundscapes. "We've designed it as a sequence of spaces that you journey through," says Callow.

Time travel: There are incredible props on show, including the full size airplane from "Spectre." Callow says the museum will be constantly updated.

Highlights: Despite the plethora of props on display, Callow says "the number one highlight of the museum is it's in this absolutely amazing location."

Great location: There are other attractions in the region that Callow recommends: "There's absolutely fantastic stuff to do all over that valley," he says.

Next step: More Bond awaits: "I'm working on the next James Bond film now, as an art director, no title as yet, but it's being directed by Danny Boyle," says Callow.

Amazing destinations: "I've worked in all different places, in Panama, Istanbul, the Austrian alps, the Bahamas, every time it's totally different, but always good fun," he says.
