
Transatlantic crossing: American divorcee Jeannette Saquet met Scottish widower Graham McFarlane on board the Queen Mary 2 ocean liner in January 2017. Here they are on a repeat trip on the vessel in 2018.

Chance meeting: The two met when Saquet sat next to McFarlane at breakfast. She invited him to play bridge with her and her friends. Here they are at a formal dinner on board.

New friends: The Queen Mary 2 was on its way from New York to London. Saquet was traveling with friends, while McFarlane was traveling solo after visiting friends in Florida.

Scottish reunion: When the ship berthed in Southampton, McFarlane and Saquet exchanged contact details and stayed in touch. He invited her to visit him in Scotland, which she did. They went to Achnecary, pictured.

Falling in love: "I just fell in love with Scotland and I fell in love with him too," says Saquet. Here they are at Culzean Castle in May 2019.

American reunion: In June 2017, McFarlane met Saquet in Chicago, pictured. He also met her family and friends back home in Michigan.

Traveling together: The two started traveling together, here they are on a beach in Cyprus.

Paris adventure: They also spent time in Paris together. Here they are at the Sacre Coeur.

Same wavelength: The couple realized they were on the same wavelength about many things, from bridge to travel to socializing.

Unexpected delight: Neither Saquet nor McFarlane had expected to find love again, and they were delighted to have met one another.

Quality time: As their visits to their respective countries got longer, they realized they wanted to spend as much time together as possible. Here they are in Scotland in 2019.

Wedding day: When Covid-19 hit, Saquet and McFarlane were together in the US. In the midst of weathering the pandemic together, they decided to get married in August 2020.

New chapter: They had a small backyard wedding at Saquet's home in Michigan. They're excited for this next chapter together and looking forward to future travels when the situation allows.
