Airport romance: Krystina Burton first crossed paths with Gabriel Solberg while waiting for an Alaska Airlines airplane flying from New York to Los Angeles. The two ended up sat next to one another on the flight.

Adventuring: "I met the girl of my dreams," wrote Solberg in a text to his brother right after he got off the plane. Solberg and Burton share a love of travel. Here they are in Ventimiglia in Liguria, Italy.

Unexpected meeting: "We definitely met by chance, coincidence, fate...whatever you want to call it," says Solberg.

Return to the airport: Solberg and Burton posed for these photos around a year or so later, at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington DC. Photographer Tyler Petit took the shots.

First photo: After their original airplane meeting in July 2018, Solberg returned to Los Angeles a week later so he could spend more time with Burton. This is one of the couple's first photos together.

Whirlwind romance: The couple moved in together only a couple of months after that first flight. They say they just knew it was right. The two later got engaged while on vacation in Italy.

Sharing travels: Solberg and Burton share their travel adventures on their joint Instagram account @swirlthroughtheworld. Here they are on Antiparos Island in Greece.

Jet setting together: Solberg is half-French, half-American and grew up in Germany, so he's always traveled a lot. Burton's job as a dancer takes her across the world, from stints performing on cruise ships to tours across the US and beyond.

Great foundation: The two reckon their airplane meeting formed the perfect setting for a first date. They say they are where they are today "because of the foundation that we had on the plane," says Burton.

Future flights: Right now the two are looking forward to their future adventures together. Whenever they travel together, they reflect on their relationship's beginnings. "We always reminisce about how we met at some point during our flight and where we were then vs where we are now; it's wild to think about sometimes," say Burton.
