Anthony Bourdain returns to his roots in New Jersey with younger brother Chris. "Parts Unknown" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

"New Jersey, in case you didn't know it, has got beaches, beautiful beaches," Tony says.

Tony and Chris feast on clams in drawn butter at Kubel's, a seaside restaurant in Barnegat Light. The two brothers grew up summering on the Jersey Shore.

Tony then heads to Atlantic City to talk with longtime residents about the city in the time before gambling.

Vicki Gold Levi is one of those residents: Her dad was the chief photographer for the city from the 1930s to the 1960s, and she grew up walking down the then-bustling boardwalk. Tony shares pan-seared scallops with her at the The Knife & Fork Inn in Atlantic City.

Comedian Rich Vos was also born and bred in New Jersey.

Tony and Chris watch Vos, along with his wife Bonnie McFarlane, perform in Atlantic City.

Tony then visits Baltimore Grill in Atlantic City, which specializes in old-fashioned Italian-American fare.

Bourdain listens over dinner as the husband-wife comedians discuss how people often think of New Jersey as an industrial wasteland because of the refineries along the turnpike.
