In Robert Götzfried "Pipes" series, Bavarian organs become graphic statements of line and pattern.

Götzfried searched southern Germany for the region's most dramatic organs.

The organs were captured in all manner of churches, from the minimalist to the baroque.

"Their sound is simply enormous and their appearance, too," Götzfried says of the organs.

"Their sheer size makes you feel small. And the metal patterns of the pipes are simply stunning."
