This One-Star Perfecto Leather Motorcycle Jacket from the late 1950s is part of MoMA's "Items: Is Fashion Modern?," an exhibition that brings the 111 garments and accessories that have had the most profound effect on the world.

Little black dress —
Some items are represented by more than one example. This 1981 Thierry Mugler dress is just one of several little black dresses.

White t-shirt —
The white t-shirt was the first item curator Paola Antonelli included in her list called "garments that changed the world," which spawned the exhibition.

Jeans —
The exhibition is loaded with everyday uniforms, such as the Levi's 501 jeans.
