• The final slate of men’s games: Sunday’s round of 32 games will be remembered for the first buzzer-beater of the tournament. It was worth the wait! Maryland’s Derik Queen’s driving, floating, off-glass winner at the horn won it for the No. 4 Terps over No. 12 Colorado State.

• Another upset sent an SEC school to a rare Sweet 16 appearance. The first big name to fall came on Saturday when No. 2 St. John’s lost to No. 10 Arkansas. On Sunday, No. 3 Iowa State was dominated by No. 6 Ole Miss, who now reach the second week of the Big Dance for the first time in 24 years. No. 1 Florida only just survived UConn in the day’s opening game.

• Women’s top seeds prevail: South Carolina survived a scare from Indiana to advance in the round of 32. Top overall seed UCLA was stifled by No. 8 Richmond early but dictated the second half to book a Sweet 16 bout with No. 5 Ole Miss.

UCLA goes on a big third-quarter run to outlast pesky Richmond

Top-seeded UCLA was tied with No. 8 Richmond through two quarters.

Then the third quarter came and it was game over.

A 29-7 quarter, marked by a 23-2 run to close it out, sent the Bruins into the Sweet 16 after the Spiders gave them all they could handle in the opening stages.

Lauren Betts poured in 30 points and Kiki Rice added another 23 to pace the Bruins. Betts’ incredible night came on 14-for-17 shooting and included 14 rebounds.

Maggie Doogan for Richmond hung right with Betts, scoring 27 points of her own for the Spiders.

UCLA dominated on the glass and only committed five turnovers on their way to the win.

Oregon falls short in thriller against Arizona

It was a battle between two old Pac-12 foes in the round of 32.

The No. 4 seeded Arizona hung on to down No. 5 seeded Oregon 87-83 to advance to the Sweet 16 on Sunday at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.

Wildcats guard Caleb Love scored a game-high 29 points to help lead the Cats to a win that saw them down 15 points at one point.

The win sets up a showdown with Cooper Flagg and the No. 1 seed Duke on Thursday in Newark, New Jersey.

Love was asked about the Blue Devils after the victory. He said the team would celebrate tonight’s win but “will be ready” for the Duke challenge.

Final score: Arizona 87, Oregon 83

Oregon still in it with clock ticking down

Ducks come up empty after TJ Bamba tried to drive in to tie the game.

With Arizona getting the ball, Oregon intentionally fouled, sending Wildcats guard Jaden Bradley to the line where he makes one and misses the other.

Oregon marches down the floor and makes a layup to cut the lead to one with 10.6 seconds left.

Oregon forces a turnover and gets the ball back with a chance to take the lead

Down two, Oregon forces an Arizona turnover. They have a chance to tie or win the game on this possession after seeming out of it just a few minutes ago!

Oregon within a basket with under a minute to go!

A big Oregon three made this a game with 1:19 remaining.

A replay review saw the refs rule in favor of Arizona for a loose ball out of bounds.

Ducks got the rebound and center Nick Bittle laid it in to make it a two-point game with 49.2 seconds left.

Arizona up 7 with about two minutes left

The Arizona guard has caught fire, scoring 24 points to put the Wildcats up 77-70 with just over two minutes left.

Tom Izzo praises Spartans' second half resilience

The No. 2 Michigan State Spartans secured a 16th trip to the Sweet 16 under head coach Tom Izzo following a 71-63 victory over No. 10 New Mexico on Sunday.

Izzo joked at his squad’s initial performance but commended the team’s ability to overcome early defensive struggles.

“We rested the first half, we didn’t play any in the first half,” Izzo told the TNT broadcast on how his team locked in defensively down the stretch. “I’m really disappointed in that but I’m really proud of my guys for coming back around.

Ahead for the Spartans awaits a No. 6 Ole Miss team guided by head coach Chris Beard.

“I’ve played Chris Beard before. I know his team are going to come at you tooth-and-nail,” Izzo said about his Sweet 16 opponent. “They’re going to be good defensively and they’re going to play hard.”

Oregon-Arizona turning into barnburner

Do not count out Oregon just yet.

But everytime the Ducks appear to get back into it, Arizona responds.

Led by guard Caleb Love’s 17 points , the Wildcats hold a six-point lead with 11 minutes remaining.

Michigan State are dancing on to the Sweet 16!

The Tom Izzo-led Spartans overcame a sluggish start, regrouping for a stellar second half to defeat the New Mexico Lobos 71-63 on Sunday in Cleveland.

Jaden Akins led the Spartans with 16 points, while Tre Holloman added 14 points off the bench for the Spartans.

With the disappointment of last year’s second round loss now behind them, Michigan State will next travel to Atlanta for a Sweet 16 matchup with No. 6 Ole Miss.

Arizona breaks the door open to start second half

A second straight Sweet 16 appearance is getting closer to reality for this pesky Arizona team.

The Wildcats have outscored Oregon 12-5 in the first four minutes to take a 54-43 lead.

Michigan State extends lead to double digits, on the verge of Sweet 16 berth

Michigan State are minutes away from a return to the Sweet 16.

The Spartans locked in late, forcing New Mexico to commit several mistakes down the stretch to pull away.

Jase Richardson got a crucial steal with around two minutes left and then drew the foul on the other end to give the Spartans a nine point advantage with 1:32 left in the game.

Arizona takes narrow lead into halftime

Its been all Arizona to close out the first half after falling down a 19-4 hole to start the game.

However, Oregon kept it close, going into halftime down just four points.

Jaden Bradley leads all Wildcats with 11 points while Jackson Shelstad has a Ducks-high 12 points.

Michigan State and New Mexico contining to battle

We’re past the midway point in Cleveland, where the Spartans are threatening to pull away.

Jaden Akins is up to 13 points and helped lead Michigan State on a 9-2 run to build their biggest lead of the game.

However, New Mexico are fighting hard to stay in this one.
