Baseball mascot —
Hello Kitty is super cute and super rich. The adorable pop icon has warmed the hearts of millions the world over, and now makes the big bucks in lots of creative ways. Here's a look at how Hello Kitty rakes in the money.

Rockin' out —
Hello Kitty even makes money rockin' out. Last year, Sanrio teamed up with Beats by Dre to produce special edition headphones ($250) and earbuds ($150) to celebrate Hello Kitty's 40th birthday. They debuted at Hello Kitty Con in Los Angeles, a four-day affair teeming with ultimate Hello Kitty fans, and are now for sale worldwide.

International diplomacy —
In 2004, mobile phone accessories with Hello Kitty charms and the 12-star European Union flag launched. The goal was to publicize the euro and promote good relations between Japan and the EU.

Holiday floats —
Hello Kitty has floated in Macy's annual Thanksgiving Day parade every year since 2007. The event may not be material to Sanrio's bottom line, but it's a big platform for boosting her brand. In recent years, she's flown high through the streets aboard her own retro airplane. The balloon is about 50 feet long, 38 feet wide and 36 feet tall, and her iconic red bow is six feet long.

At a hospital —
Thousands of babies have been born at Hau Sheng, a 30-bed maternity hospital, in Taiwan, since it claimed its title as the first Hello Kitty medical center. Newborns are swaddled in adorable Hello Kitty blankets, while hospital staff don Hello Kitty uniforms. Mothers stay in rooms decorated with Hello Kitty pictures and furniture.

Bathroom accessories —
Leave it to Hello Kitty to make a high-tech toilet seat. Sanrio showed this prototype in February, which boasts seat heating and warm water shower functions.
