• Only one goal needed: Ousmane Dembélé scored two minutes into this semifinal second leg and that was all that was needed for PSG to defeat Bayern Munich. PSG can put themselves amongst the greatest teams we've ever seen
PSG had to wait 55 years to finally get their hands on ‘Ol Big Ears when they romped Inter Milan 5-0 in last year’s final in Munich.
To say it was worth the wait would be a stretch. However, it was the biggest winning margin ever in a European Cup/Champions League final.
And after it was clear to everyone that Luis Enrique’s side was undoubtedly head and shoulders above the rest as the best team in European club soccer.
It’s not just the fact PSG is back in another final which is impressive, but it’s the manner of how they’ve got here which makes it even more admirable.
The Parisians have blitzed through the Champions League with the same swagger and style as they did last year.
This is the elite competition in the European club game, yet Enrique’s PSG don’t change their philosophy or approach in any game or occasion.
Only Zinedine Zidane’s great Real Madrid team – who won three straight titles from 2016-18 – ever retained their European crown in the Champions League era.
If this PSG side pull that off, they will sit right alongside them as one of the greatest sides to ever grace The Beautiful Game.
Watching PSG feels like déjà vu from last season

What Luis Enrique has built with this PSG side is truly remarkable.
They’re not only devastating going forward, but they press with such vicious intensity that it often feels like they have an extra player on the field.
For all the attacking flair and brilliance that Desire Doué, Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia possess, their enthusiasm and tenacity to defend from the front makes this team almost suffocating to come up against.
Emotions are high right now in Munich. But when the dust settles, Vincent Kompany and his players will undoubtedly accept the fact that they just lost to a better side.
A side which, if it does go on to retain the title the title in Budapest at the end of the month, will have to be spoken about among the very best to ever grace the European club game.
Mikel Arteta and his side has a real tough task ahead of them taming this Parisian juggernaut in Budapest on May 30. It’s a truly unenviable task.
Manuel Neuer laments Bayern's lack of "killer instinct"
Bayern’s 40-year-old goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has seen a lot in soccer, including winning two Champions League titles, so few are better placed to analyse why his team failed to progress.
Despite making several brilliant stops on the night, the German could only watch as Bayern’s attack failed to make a dent in Paris’ defense.
He added: “Our goal, unfortunately, came a bit too late. We didn’t have time to create another chance or maybe even get a set-piece situation. At that point it was too late.
“I think that key moment in the game was simply missing. The stadium was there, we were there as well, but I think in Paris’ penalty area we just weren’t clinical enough.”
Willian Pacho grabs the plaudits for superb defensive display

We sang his praises earlier and it seems like UEFA’s ears were burning as PSG’s Willian Pacho has been named the Player of the Match for another superb defensive display.
The Ecuadorian was a rock alongside Marquinhos, sniffing out Bayern’s attack and never letting them have any momentum in front of goal.
He won so many duels, made vital interceptions at key moments in the game and was instrumental in an excellent PSG defensive performance.
All the 3s for PSG
Three really is the magic number for all those associated with PSG.
The Parisians are the first French club to reach three European Cup / Champions League finals – and the first to appear in two consecutive finals.
Luis Enrique is into his third Champions League final as a coach, having previously led Barcelona to the title in 2015 and Paris to the trophy in 2025.
A tie for the ages but PSG's class shines through

We’ll be hard pushed to see a better semifinal tie in Champions League memory.
PSG and Bayern Munich delivered on all levels – goals, quality and drama from minute one.
But when it came down to know-how, resilience and clinical finishing, it was PSG’s class that ultimately prevailed.
Under Luis Enrique, the Parisians have become one of, if not, the dominant forces in the European game and, with a young squad full of togetherness, tenacity and a tiresome work ethic, the sky really is the limit for this team.
The better team won on the night

They might point to a few decisions by the referee but, in truth, Bayern’s players don’t deserve any more than what they got tonight.
Conceding that early goal proved so pivotal, allowing PSG to sit back and soak up all the pressure. Without the space of the first leg, Bayern just couldn’t find a way past PSG’s defensive unit.
It seemed there was always a PSG player in the way, testement to how hard the visiors worked all game.
That goal from Harry Kane in the final seconds just came too late for Bayern, so it’s the Parisians dancing on the pitch as they celebrate yet another Champions League final.
PSG headed back to final!

PSG is back in the Champions League final!
A 1-1 draw on the night suggests a tight game but in truth the Parisians were dominant throughout and rarely looked threatened by Bayern’s attackers.
Winning one Champions League title is hard enough but doing it on back to back occasions is reserved for a small set of elite clubs.
PSG will have that opportunity later this month when they take on Arsenal in Budapest on May 30 as they look to become the first team since Real Madrid to retain their crown.
And on this form you wouldn’t bet against them doing so.
Bayern scores to give fans hope! 1-1

Hello..
It was all looking like the end for Bayern but Harry Kane gets one back for his team.
A matter of seconds left to score another, though.
PSG on course for treble of trophies... and we're not even halfway through 2026
Victory in tonight’s semifinal will keep PSG on course for a treble of trophies so far in 2026.
They’ve already lifted the French Super Cup this season and are on course to win yet another Ligue 1 title.
The Parisians currently sit six points ahead of nearest challengers Lens.
Add that to a possible shot at another Champions League title and it could be another year to remember for the PSG fanbase.
Bayern turns to teenage star for inspiration
Less than five minutes left and Bayern has thrown on Lennart Karl.
The 18-year-old is an insanely talented player; full of tricks, flicks and creativity. He’s suffered from injuries this season but now has a chance to make himself a hero.
His team needs him and he just had a chance to score, but his effort was blocked by a host of PSG defenders.
More stunted buildup play from Bayern Munich

It’s just not clicking for Bayern today and its fans seem to be losing faith.
It’s all just very slow and predictable, with PSG able to sit back and wait for its host to make a mistake.
Vincent Kompany throws on another striker in the form of Nicolas Jackson but it’s all looking a bit desperate.
Defensive grit and attacking flair on full show for PSG

We’ve spoken so much about PSG’s attacking flair but tonight they’ve shown another side to themselves with real defensive grit and nouse.
Led by their supremely experienced captain Marquinhos and the indomitable William Pacho, the centre-back duo have been so commanding at the back and barely given the Bayern attackers a sniff at goal.
PSG has managed this game superbly in the second half. They look so comfortable on the big stage and are now just looking to see this game out.
And they nearly do so as Kvaratskhelia fails to make proper contact with his shot in the penalty area.
That would have been game over.
Doué almost buries the tie

Desire Doué is inches away from sealing the tie for PSG.
The Frenchman links up with Kvaratskhelia on the edge of the box before drilling a low shot that goes into the side-netting.
You get the feeling that the second goal is not too far away now for the Parisians.
Bayern makes changes to breathe new life into tiring team
Vincent Kompany has turned to his bench and made two changes with Bayern still struggling in front of goal – Jonathan Tah and Josip Stanišić are replaced by Kim Min-jae and Alphonso Davies.
It seems to have worked, with Bayern taking two shots in as many minutes after the substitutions. Crucially, though, still no goals.
Goalscorer Dembélé's night is done

One shot. One goal. That is what you call efficiency.
Ousmane Dembélé’s may have been relatively quiet for PSG this evening but his goal early on could well be the one to send the Parisians into back-to-back Champions League finals.
The reigning Ballon d’Or winner’s night is done as he makes way for compatriot Bradley Barcola.
PSG has just over 20 minutes to see out this tie and punch their ticket to Budapest.
PSG looking to take the sting out of the game

Bayern are pushing for the equalizer, which is leaving space at the back – something PSG is looking to capitalize on.
The Parisians are happy to sit in, absorb pressure and then hit the Bavarians on the counterattack.
You get the feeling that PSG’s wingers – Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué – will always create chances.
And Doué has another effort on goal which Neuer has to tip round the post for a corner, which ultimately comes to nothing.
Michael Olise not shining as bright as usual

Bayern has been able to rely on Michael Olise to be the creative spark this season, but the winger is struggling to make an impact in this match.
He’s got himself in some good positions so far but the end product has been missing. Just then, he ghosted into some space just outside the box but couldn’t make up his mind and eventually lost the ball.
Bayern need him and Harry Kane to improve in this second half.
Doué, Kvaratskhelia test Neuer in quick succession

After being treated to so much thrilling, free-flowing football in this tie we can maybe forgive the players for a scrappy start to the second half.
But then suddenly out of nothing PSG forces Manuel Neuer into two back-to-back saves.
First, Désiré Doué tests the palms of the German keeper with a thunderous shot before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia follows up by drilling in a low shot that is stopped by Neuer’s feet.
Bayern will have one eye on the clock already
It’s only been around 10 minutes since the restart but Bayern will be very conscious of every second that ticks by.
PSG seems to be sitting in at the start of the second half, looking to stifle any space that could allow Bayern back into this.
You feel if Bayern get one back, the whole stadium will erupt and the second might follow.
