US Attorney General Pam Bondi appeared before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday and delivered some of the tensest and most combative testimony we’ve seen to date from a Trump Cabinet official.

Bondi came into the hearing with the administration and the Justice Department facing a series of problems, including their handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, the newly reported failed indictments of six Democratic lawmakers, and the killing of two protesters by federal officers in Minneapolis.

During her testimony, Bondi directly addressed Epstein survivors sitting behind her, telling them that she is “deeply sorry” for the abuse they suffered at the hands of “that monster.”

The Justice Department has been under fire over its handling of the so-called Epstein files — both for its resistance to produce every document that was part the investigation into accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, and for mistakes in redactions when those documents were ultimately released.

Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal asked survivors in the room to stand up and raise their hand if they had not been able to meet with the Justice Department about the abuse they faced. She said every victim raised their hand.

Here are some of the stories that made headlines over the past week, as well as some photos that caught our eye.
