President Donald Trump said he has “formed the framework of a future deal” on Greenland after a meeting with NATO chief Mark Rutte in Davos, Switzerland.

Trump, speaking Wednesday at the World Economic Forum, said the deal meant he would no longer impose new tariffs on European nations that had opposed his ambitions to annex Greenland, a self-ruling Danish territory in the Arctic.

During his address, Trump ruled out using military force to acquire Greenland as he doubled-down on his demand for control of the island. Trump also issued harsh criticism of Europe and touted his domestic agenda.

Trump said additional discussions regarding the Golden Dome missile defense system were ongoing. Trump has said Greenland would be essential to the system.

Here are some of the stories that made headlines over the past week, as well as some photos that caught our eye.
