Air Force Lt. Col. Melchizedek "Kato" Martinez is raising four children on his own following the death of his wife. "I find myself being a father for the first time after 18 years, because the truth of the matter is I've been gone so much," Martinez said. "I've been on missions and deployments because my wife allowed me to do that. She took care of the house. She was both mother and father."

While stationed in Europe, the Martinez family enjoyed making trips as a family to Disneyland Paris. The family of six was checking in for a flight to Orlando -- where they were planning to visit Disney World -- when the terrorist attack happened in March.
