Not sure how to break into the tailgating lifestyle? Here are some easy ways to prepare for the next game day.

Choose your grill wisely. Charcoal and propane grills work best because they don't require external power. Make sure the grill is portable enough to fit in your vehicle but large enough to accommodate everybody you're feeding.

Your fellow tailgaters will be walking around, conversing and playing games, so select foods that can be eaten on the go.

Bring something to keep everybody entertained. Games like cornhole and ladder golf work well because they can be played with food or a beverage in one hand.

Some tailgaters will even bring a TV and a generator so fans can watch the pregame show in the parking lot.

Show up to the parking lot as early as you can. This way you'll have plenty of space and time to set up the grill.

Do yourself a favor and check the weather forecast the night before game day. You don't want to be surprised by a downpour in the middle of grilling.

You're a fan, after all, so dress like one! You don't have to go full-body costume or face paint. But at least make sure you're wearing the right colors.

Memorize the rules of the stadium. Some municipalities have glass bottle bans or prohibit the use of charcoal grills.
