February was Emily Fuggetta's first time on horseback since losing her leg and her horse, Sammy, in a tragic accident six months before.

After being in the hospital for two weeks, Fuggetta asked her friends to bring their animals to visit her. Her friends brought in a pit bull to keep Fuggetta's spirits up.

Friends drew and painted tributes to Sammy and Tina. "I think posting about my animals every day on Facebook made other people feel like they knew them too," Emily said.
