Applicants have to go through several stages of a grueling selection process, which admits only 0.7% of those who apply.

The final stage is a two-week bootcamp, where aspiring developers are taught how to build web applications and are assessed on the speed at which they learn as well as their soft skills.

Once they are matched with a company, Andela flies the developers to its HQ so they can get to know the culture and meet the team. Successful alumni have worked for international giants like Microsoft and IBM, as well as emerging start-ups.
