"Chicago Med," NBC —
Producer Dick Wolf's third Chicago-based series had a solid start in the ratings, but critics weren't too excited by this followup to "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago P.D." Grade: C+

"The Muppets," ABC —
Miss Piggy took center stage on the first episode of "The Muppets," which had a lot of positive reviews but some very vocal detractors who felt the more adult tone and "behind the scenes" look at the characters was all wrong. Nevertheless, it had an impressive audience in its first week, enough to get it picked up for 16 episodes this season. New grade: B+

"Supergirl," CBS —
Critics were nearly unanimous in their praise for this high-profile superhero series, especially Melissa Benoist's performance in the title role. The first episode premiered with a bang as well. Grade: A+

"Grandfathered," Fox —
John Stamos' new series got a lukewarm reception from critics, but it did well enough for Fox to get a full season. New grade: B-

"Life in Pieces," CBS —
The new comedy, which some critics (though not all, to be sure) felt was too similar to "Modern Family," nevertheless had a big debut in the ratings, and CBS has now picked it up for a full season. New grade: B+

"The Grinder," Fox —
It's another comedy home run for Rob Lowe and Fred Savage as far as critics are concerned, and Fox has enough confidence in the show to pick it up for a full season. New grade: B+

"Limitless," CBS —
This continuation of a feature film brought in the most viewers of any new Tuesday night show in its first week, along with mostly favorable reviews. It's now received a full season pickup. New grade: A+

"Dr. Ken," ABC —
After stealing scenes on "Community" and "The Hangover" trilogy, Ken Jeong finally has his own show, the family sitcom "Dr. Ken" (yes, Jeong is a real doctor). Critics eviscerated the premiere, but the ratings were good. It's now received a full season order. New grade: B-

"Rosewood," Fox —
Even though critics have panned it, "Rosewood" was the second TV series to get a full season pickup. The Fox series has benefited by airing before "Empire." New grade: B-

"Blindspot," NBC —
Though it wasn't universally acclaimed, most critics thought the new mystery drama starring Jaimie Alexander of "Thor" had potential. Audiences felt the same, tuning in in large numbers for the past few weeks, making it the first series to get a full-season pickup. New grade: A

"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," The CW —
Critics fell in love with this musical romantic comedy about a woman who moves across the country in hopes that she might get back together with her high school boyfriend. Unfortunately, the ratings for the first episode were pretty dismal. Grade: C-

"Code Black," CBS —
Critics were very fond of the new CBS medical drama "Code Black," though viewers didn't quite warm up to it on its first week out. Grade: B-

"Quantico," ABC —
ABC's new series -- which is a bit like "Grey's Anatomy" in the FBI, with a big mystery -- had a big debut on its first Sunday night and has won over critics. Grade: A

"Blood and Oil," ABC —
One critic called this the "Dallas" reboot no one asked for. The new soap opera had OK ratings on its first outing but encountered mixed reviews from critics. Grade: C-

"Scream Queens," Fox —
The network heavily promoted this combination of "Glee" and "American Horror Story" (with a dash of "Mean Girls"), and it dominated social media on the night it premiered. Despite all that, critics were less than kind (some calling it downright offensive due in large part to the racist character played by Emma Roberts, center), and ratings were well below expectations. Grade: D-

"Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris," NBC —
Two weeks in, this live show seems to be figuring out just what it wants to be (a prank involving Britney Spears appears to be the only real highlight), and NBC decided to keep it on after "The Voice" to boost ratings. Grade: C-

"Heroes Reborn," NBC —
Viewers were curious enough about this reboot of the original "Heroes" which ran on NBC from 2006 to 2010 that the new show had strong ratings for its premiere. Critics weren't so forgiving, however. Grade: C+
"The Player," NBC —
Wesley Snipes' new drama was not well reviewed, the audience seemed to follow suit as the premiere night ratings were also less than impressive. Grade: D
