Inspired by classical paintings, Rebecca Ruetten photographed a distinctly modern phenomenon -- fast food -- in Renaissance-era style.

In her series "Contemporary Pieces," Ruetten theatrically lights meals of Taco Bell, KFC, McDonald's, Panda Express and donuts.

Ruetten sees fast food as a symbol of class divide. "To eat healthy is expensive," she said. "However, one can buy large amounts of food at a fast-food restaurant for a comparatively low price."
