When Teena Henson celebrated her 50th birthday in 2011 she weighed 332 pounds.

By June 2012, she had lost 100 pounds by working out daily at a new gym in her hometown of Gilmer, Texas.

Henson continued to lose weight by making healthier eating choices, even when she went to fast food restaurants. She often switched out fried chicken for grilled or ate a side salad instead of fries.

Since she started working out three years ago, Henson has participated in five 5K races. She recently finished one in 46 minutes, her personal best.

Henson was named "Member of the Month" from Anytime Fitness for not missing a single day at the gym in October 2013. "I logged in a total of 303 days last year," she said.

Henson lost 166 pounds "in two years, nine months and 13 days," she said. She's since kept the weight off.
