Willow, a 12-year-old Labrador retriever, has watched over the vines at Long Island's Bedell Cellars since she was 10 weeks old.

Willow's owner, Donna Rudolph, is the assistant vineyard manager at Bedell Cellars. She has been with the winery for 18 years.

Willow spends her day roaming around the vines, picking up scents and chasing off pesky deer, rabbits and groundhogs. "But mostly she's for entertainment," Rudolph says.

She's got a nose for wine —
Rudolph works 5½ days a week at the winery with Willow. Nowadays, Willow will sometimes stay in the winery's office after lunch for a snooze. "I don't push her anymore," says Rudolph, who starts most days at 7 in the morning.

After a day of pruning the vines, Willow is ready for a quick game of catch.
