Facebook-Instagram: Thumbs down —
Facebook's $1 billion purchase of the mobile photo-sharing site Instagram has lots of people talking, and many users spoke out through their medium of choice: photography. Aline Alencar of Rio de Janeiro gave the move a thumbs down and writes, "I think it's very bad for all users. In Instagram we have a small social media to conform to. A lot of users will stop using Instagram."

Facebook-Instagram: Shocked faces —
Donnol Hem of Beaumont, Texas, and daughter Mikaela made faces. Hem is optimistic. "Facebook, like it or not, is a huge success."

Facebook-Instagram: Homescreen wedding —
Godson Fortil, 22, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, designed this image to "show others the possibility and consequences of the acquisition of Instagram by Facebook."

Facebook-Instagram: Bunny ears —
"Facebook doesn't care about the pictures or the art," says a skeptical Reno Moeller of Discovery Bay, California. "They just want the users. They want the data."

Facebook-Instagram: Money talks —
Chris Barone of Smithtown, New York, says there is something "big governmenty" about the purchase. "Instagram's beauty was in its simplicity and ease of use. Facebook represents the exact opposite; they continue to prove that they don't care about the user experience as much as monetizing the user experience. I hope they acknowledge the genuine concerns behind the negative feedback and tread lightly."

Facebook-Instagram: Polaroid —
Amy Freeborn of London loves her Polaroid camera. She doesn't use Instagram, but had a few thoughts: "The purchase price is pretty impressive, especially given how short a time Instagram has been around. It's obviously testament to how important Facebook, probably the biggest player in the digital social arena, thinks this relatively fledgling digital social player is."
