Character assassins — The Yiangjiang Group - Sun Qingling (left), Chen Zaiyan and Zheng Guogu - subvert Chinese calligraphy Yangjiang Group studio is an organic work in progress. A kinetic artwork of moving Chinese characters recounts a news story. A wax-covered stalagmite of stacked calligraphy sits in the Yangjiang Group's studio. Zheng and his collaborators are building an art complex on the outskirts of Yangjiang. The ovuloid windows are a motif throughout the Yangjiang Group complex. Zheng says the oval windows represent a small child on a tricycle who 'while unassuming possesses irrestible powers'. Zheng says the complex may never be completed. Prev Next
