In October, Sarah and other families at Fort Bliss, Texas, received word that soldiers would be returning home from Iraq before the end of the year. However, her husband, Josh, was unable to make it home in time for the birth of their son, Trae.

Two of Sarah's friends were with her at the hospital when Trae was born in late October, but her family wasn't able to travel to El Paso for several more days. Josh learned of his son's birth via an e-mail as he was transitioning out of Iraq.
