Cem Marifet of Singapore captured this image of one of Bangkok's floating merchants while on vacation in the city in November 2011. "It's a great experience shopping for fruits and trying some of the local foods," he said. "We had the best fried bananas ever from two ladies on a boat," he adds.

Chiang Mai at sunset —

Buddha's alley —

Stunning wildlife —
Tyson Wheatley shot this close up image of an elephant on his iphone 4 while on holiday in Koh Samui. Riding atop the gentle giants was the "highlight" of his Thai trip, he says.

Stylish street markets —

The temple remains "bring some experience of what the town must have been like hundreds of years ago," he says.
