Some 45,000 people packed the Great Park in Irvine, California for Olivia Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields music festival on Saturday.

The singer headlined the event and brought out special guests Stevie Nicks, Alanis Morissette and Sarah McLachlan to perform during her set. McLachlan created the groundbreaking, all-women Lilith Fair in the late ’90s and Rodrigo told the audience, “without Lilith Fair there would be no Daisy Chains.” The concert’s line-up featured some of music’s hottest acts including Chappell Roan and Doechii.

Just as important to festival-goers? The event’s explicit message in support of women’s rights, with all proceeds donated to organizations serving women and girls. People flew in from around the country to attend, drawn as much by the politics as by the music. The event raised $20 million for Planned Parenthood, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, the Center for Reproductive Rights and more.

Reyes-Castelloe was wearing a top handed down from her grandmother, who brought it from Mexico, and braided her hair how her mother taught her. “I feel, especially as women, we have so much of what we are and what we are told we can and cannot be,” she said. “And also on the flip side, a lot of our support is inherited. It comes with us when we come into the world.”

Attendees leaned into the festival's daisy theme, including Sydney Abad of Los Angeles. She sourced some of her accessories from Amazon and some from Instagram while the flower crown was gifted to her by “a random shop that I hit up on Abbot Kinney” in LA. “There’ve been so many great outfits,” she said.

“I was obviously inspired by daisies and sunshine,” said Fatima Ali, who was wearing a yellow skirt and a white top. She decided to style her hijab “like Rapunzel themed,” she said. “So I put it like a long braid and I put daisies all over with a daisy cap.”

The festival went on into the night and, after it was over, Rodrigo <a href="index.php?page=&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.instagram.com%2Fp%2FDcsHtt1h6hv%2F%3Fhl%3Den" target="_blank">said</a> that "seeing daisy chain come to fruition yesterday was the greatest joy of my career." She said it was an example of "a collective hope" and proved that "joy is part of the solution."
