The Department of Justice seized the Amadea, a 348-foot superyacht, in Fiji in 2022 as part of task force effort to hold Russians friendly to the Kremlin accountable. US prosecutors allege its owner, Suleiman Kerimov, who made his fortune in gold, violated US sanctions by using the US banking system to cover expenses for the vessel. The government is now auctioning off the boat to the highest bidder. CNN’s Kara Scannell reports.
