Scottie Scheffler became the world's No. 1 golfer in March, and he lived up to that ranking at the Masters.

The 25-year-old Texan won his first major tournament on Sunday, finishing three strokes clear of the field after holding the lead all weekend.

Rory McIlroy finished in second place after shooting a final-round 64, one shot off the tournament record. Cameron Smith and Shane Lowry finished in a tie for third, one stroke behind McIlroy.

Tiger Woods made his return to competitive golf this week after a devastating car crash last year put his career in doubt. He made the cut and then struggled over the weekend, finishing more than 20 strokes back. But he still said this comeback was among the greatest achievements of his career outside of winning an event.
