The redemption story is now complete.
A year after suffering a historic defeat in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the Virginia Cavaliers are now champions for the first time in school history.
De'Andre Hunter scored 27 points, including a game-tying 3-pointer near the end of regulation, and Kyle Guy added 24 points as Virginia defeated Texas Tech 85-77 in overtime.
Last season, the Cavaliers made the wrong kind of history when they became the first No. 1 seed ever to lose to a No. 16 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
But they bounced back in style this year, winning the title with some dramatic victories along the way.
