The race is taking place on the streets around the Hotel des Invalides.

The city's historic architecture and statutes are temporarily sharing their space with the race track's protective barriers.

The race will be run on a 1.9-kilometer (1.2-mile) track.

Life is carrying on as normal though as organizers of the electric race series prepare the streets for Saturday's race.

Twenty-thousand spectators have bought tickets to see Formula E drivers compete in round seven of the 11-race series which also visits Berlin, Beijing, Moscow and Buenos Aires.
