Crowning glory for Kalusha —
Former Zambia player Kalusha Bwalya holds the Africa Cup of Nations aloft after the Copper Bullets beat Ivory Coast in Sunday's final. Coach Herve Renard dedicated Zambia's historic first title to Bwalya, who is also head of the country's soccer federation.

Poignant return —
Back in 1993, 18 Zambia players and their coach were killed in a plane crash in Gabon's capital Libreville -- the setting for Sunday's final. Bwalya escaped the tragedy as he was traveling to Africa from the Netherlands. He returned to the scene of the crash with Renard (right) and the squad before the final.

A mark of respect —
Bwalya laid flowers at the scene of the crash -- a beach in Libreville -- to pay his respects to his late teammates and coach.

Landmark moment —
Zambia's players celebrate together after they beat the Ivory Coast 8-7 on penalties at the end of a dramatic Africa Cup of Nations final.

We will remember them —
Two of Zambia's players pay tribute to those who lost their lives after the finest hour in Zambia's footballing history.
