Carrie Fisher is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The late actress, best known for playing Princess Leia in the "Star Wars" franchise, will be honored on Thursday, May 4 — aka Star Wars Day.

Fisher died at the age of 60 in December 2016, a few days after she suffered a cardiac event on a flight from London to Los Angeles.

The success of "Star Wars" made Fisher an overnight star. Her tough-as-nails Princess Leia was strong and independent, and the role positioned Fisher in the decades that followed as something of a feminist icon.

Fisher, born in 1956, was the daughter of screen legend Debbie Reynolds and singer Eddie Fisher.
