The next 15 months promise to be a busy one for soccer in America. While anticipation mounts for the FIFA World Cup in 2026, which is being hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, this summer sees the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup taking place on American soil, with 32 teams battling it out to be world champion, and for a cut of a record $1 billion prize pool. The man who is in charge of global football, FIFA President Gianni Infantino, recently paid a visit – with the Club World Cup trophy – to CNN’s Techwood Studios in Atlanta, and in this second part of a wide-ranging conversation with CNN Sport’s Coy Wire, Infantino fondly recalled his early memories of the World Cup tournament, and how it dawned on him there was only going to be one way he could get his hands on the coveted trophy.

It's been just over a month since Lindsey Vonn made history. A second-place finish in a super-G race in Idaho saw her become the oldest female Alpine skier – by six years – to make the podium of a World Cup race. It was a deeply emotional moment as she ended her comeback season following her dramatic decision to come out of retirement. Vonn had originally called time on her career in 2019 but a partial knee replacement gave the 40-year-old a new lease of life on the slopes with eyes now firmly focused on next year's Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina. Vonn, appearing alongside fellow Olympians Eileen Gu and Maria Höfl-Riesch at a CNN panel at the Laureus World Sports Awards, has been telling CNN's Amanda Davies that the journey to get back to the top was one of the most challenging of her career.

And as he's been telling CNN's Amanda Davies it's something he'd be keen to try again and would be open to competing in Grand Slam Track in a guest category.
