The Italian Air Force sent two jets to escort an American Airlines plane from New York after it was diverted to Rome while en route to Delhi, India. The plane was diverted due to a security concern, which later proved to be “non-credible." American Airlines stated: "The flight landed safely at FCO, and law enforcement inspected and cleared the aircraft for re-departure."
