Veronica Rocha is the Vice President of CNN’s Global Live News team, the dynamic storytelling unit responsible for 24/7, real-time coverage of major U.S. and international news. She was previously the team’s executive editor, where she steered strategy, planning, and execution of CNN Digital’s biggest breaking live news stories.
In her current position, Rocha has directed digital live coverage of CNN’s top and most engaging domestic and international breaking news stories, including multiple U.S. presidential elections, conflicts in Europe and Asia, and natural disasters around the globe. She helped lead the team’s Emmy-award-winning digital live coverage of the war in Ukraine and the Middle East crisis, as well as real-time breaking news coverage of the California wildfires, Hurricane Ian, the OceanGate submersible implosion, and the historic Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade.
Before joining CNN, Rocha worked at the Los Angeles Times, where she was part of the team that won a Pulitzer Prize for breaking news in 2016. A native of Los Angeles, Rocha earned a BA in journalism from California State University, Northridge.
