














Tara John is a two-time Emmy award-winning Senior Editor who covers international breaking news, analyses, and investigations. In her time at CNN, she has covered conflict, identity, disinformation, migration, and transnational crime.
In 2024, Tara won an Emmy Award and an Edward Murrow Award for her work reporting on the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza with CNN teams.
Prior to moving to New York, Tara worked at CNN’s London bureau for three years. She led a team that won an Eppy Award in 2020, and was part of the Ukraine coverage team that won a Columbia DuPont Award and Emmy Award in 2023.
Before CNN, Tara worked at the BBC and was TIME Magazine’s reporter in London covering Brexit, European politics, and terror for the EMEA region.
Tara is originally from Singapore, where she worked as a sub-editor at Thomson Reuters after graduating with a degree in politics and history from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London.
