Salomé Grouard is a features writer for CNN International, based in Hong Kong. She produces digital content covering culture, nature, health, travel, technology, and more across a variety of fields.
Before joining CNN in 2026, Grouard worked as a freelance journalist, providing on-the-ground coverage of pivotal events in Hong Kong and of social movements shaping Asia. Her work appeared in Monocle Magazine, the South China Morning Post, Cathay Magazine, and she also served as a foreign correspondent for the French newspaper Libération. She published a Hong Kong travel guide with French publishing house Gallimard. Prior to that, she was working at Tatler Asia and the South China Morning Post, where she published multimedia stories and led an award-winning newsletter.
She studied political science and religion at McGill University and the University of Tokyo, and holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Hong Kong.
